Dublin-based singer-songwriter Shobsy is making waves following his signing to Pangea International Music Publishing in partnership with Sony Music Publishing. His new single “Hold Me Up” has already gained international airplay on over 70 stations worldwide.
Shobsy’s earlier releases, including “Vanity,” “ENTERTAINMENT,” and “Champagne,” garnered widespread acclaim from outlets like EARMILK, PopMatters, Hot Press, and Record of the Day, with two tracks named “Record of the Week” on Ireland’s 2FM. His song “ENTERTAINMENT” was even recognized as Irish Track of the Year by the Irish Daily Mirror.
Known for his captivating live performances, Shobsy has sold out prestigious Irish venues like The Workman’s Club, The National Concert Hall, and The Academy. In March, he headlines Whelan’s, Dublin, following a special guest appearance at the International Music Industry Awards in Los Angeles. Notably, he was one of a few Irish artists invited to perform at a showcase hosted by the President of Ireland in 2023.
Shobsy’s acoustic rendition of “Smalltown Boy” on Ireland’s Late Late Show went viral, amassing over 100,000 views in just 12 hours, showcasing his vocal talent and emotional delivery. He has also collaborated with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, performing works by David Bowie and Phil Lynott.
Blending elements of synth-pop and R&B, Shobsy’s genre-hopping sound draws inspiration from icons like George Michael, David Bowie, and The Weeknd. With new recordings from Berlin and Dublin, his natural charisma, vocal range, and dynamic artistry promise an exciting trajectory ahead.
