Sean Mulligan is a Los Angeles-based, multi-award-winning music supervisor and eight-time Guild of Music Supervisor Awards nominee. Over his 20+ year career as a music executive, he has built and run publishing, licensing, and supervision departments for Anthem Entertainment (then ole), Rock Steady Music, Hasbro, Entertainment One, The Wilders, and currently The Music Dept.
He is an expert licensor having successfully negotiated agreements for the use of thousands of songs as both a licensor and music supervisor on over 50 films and television series. What’s more, he has overseen the hiring of musical talent and the creation and production of original music across a diverse range of genres for use in a wide variety of audio-visual media.
In 2023, he was awarded the International Music + Sound Award for “Best Sync in a Film” for his work on Erica Tremblay’s ‘Fancy Dance’ (Apple Films); along with a Canadian Sync Award for the same. In 2025, he was awarded a Canadian Sync Award for his work on the Idris & Sabrina Elba produced docuseries, ‘Paid In Full: The Battle For Black Music’ (BBC/CBC.) He and his team are especially proud of their work supporting music event fundraisers for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
