Mike Knobloch is the President of Music and Publishing at NBCUniversal, where he oversees all aspects of the studio’s music and soundtracks, as well as managing one of the largest music publishing catalogs in the world. His catalog includes songs and scores from nearly a century of Universal’s iconic film and television history.
A GRAMMY-nominated Music Supervisor and Producer, Knobloch has contributed to some of the top-grossing films of all time, including Jurassic World, Titanic, and Avatar. Over the past decade alone, songs and soundtracks under his supervision have garnered more than 42 billion streams globally.
At Universal, Knobloch has been instrumental in the success of major franchises such as Fast & Furious, Pitch Perfect, Despicable Me, Fifty Shades of Grey, and The Super Mario Bros. Notable projects include the Oscar and GRAMMY-winning score for Oppenheimer, the record-breaking Wicked, and critically acclaimed titles like Les Misérables, Straight Outta Compton, and Sing. He also supervised chart-topping hits such as Furious 7’s anthem “See You Again,” Despicable Me 2’s global sensation “Happy,” and Fifty Shades of Grey’s “Earned It.”
An advocate for diversity in music for visual media, Knobloch spearheaded Universal’s Composer Initiative, a groundbreaking program that promotes underrepresented talent in the industry. The initiative led to historic milestones, including the first woman to score a DreamWorks Animation feature.
Prior to joining Universal in 2010, Knobloch was Executive Vice President of Film Music at 20th Century Fox, with credits on films like The Devil Wears Prada, Moulin Rouge, Napoleon Dynamite, and Walk the Line.
