Melissa Stern serves as Director, Music Supervisor & Tech Operations at FOX Sports, where she oversees creative services, system operations, live music review, catalog management, and reporting & analytics. With over 12 years at FOX Sports, Melissa has played a pivotal role in shaping the music strategy across a vast array of sports programming, including NFL, NASCAR, MLB, NHL, college football, and international events like the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the Super Bowl.
Since 2022, Melissa has led a team managing music supervision and technology operations in a 24/7 sports environment, ensuring seamless licensing, clearance, and creative execution. Prior to this, she served as Manager of Music Clearance, Licensing, and Creative, where she pitched and cleared commercial and production music for Fox’s multi-network broadcasts, working closely with producers, audio engineers, and music industry partners.
Melissa’s career began with extensive experience in music supervision and licensing at Fox Cable Networks and Fox Soccer Channel, where she managed cue sheets, negotiated master and sync licenses, and curated music for action sports and lifestyle programming. She also served as a music and talent booker for live daily talk shows and supervised numerous interns, mentoring the next generation of music industry professionals.
An active leader within FOX Sports, Melissa is on the organizing committee for Women in Sports, championing diversity and inclusion in the industry. At MUSEXPO, she offers expert perspectives on the convergence of music, technology, and live sports entertainment, highlighting innovative approaches that elevate viewer engagement through sound.
