Biography

Mason Cooper, President of Songrunner Entertainment, has Music Supervised over 300 film projects and television episodes, as following his mantra to “fulfill a director’s vision within the producer’s parameters.”

His current and recent film projects include Blood Behind Us (Michael Madsen), The Beekeeper (Jason Statham), Armored and Alarum (Sylvester Stallone), Savage Salvation (Robert De Niro, John Malkovich), Hostile Takeover (Michael Jai White), The Hill (Dennis Quaid, Scott Glenn), High Rollers (John Travolta), Dead Money (Emile Hirsch, David Keith) and Sweetwater (Kevin Pollack, Richard Dreyfus, Jeremy Piven), with other highlights including the Steve Jobs biopic Jobs (Ashton Kutcher), the Raging Bull prequel/sequel The Bronx Bull (Paul Sorvino, William Forsythe), and Nine Eleven (Charlie Sheen, Whoopie Goldberg).

In addition to his feature film work, Mason has supervised many TV series, documentaries, and specials. This repertoire includes the music film Immediate Family and documentaries on legendary artists America, Collective Soul, and “The Manhattan Transfer, as well as work on television series You Me Her (Greg Poehler, Rachel Blanchard), Peter Farrelly’s Loudermilk (Ron Livingston) and over 150 Audience Music Concerts (The Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Imagine Dragons, Machine Gun Kelly, Bebe Rexha, more).

Cooper and Songrunner have recently expanded their services as Executive Music Consultant to Hollywood production finance powerhouse Bondit/Buffalo 8 in support of their upcoming slate of film projects, Music Completion Coordinator for various film distributors including Highland Film Group, and as Music Consultant to the premier Los Angeles live theater venue The Geffen Playhouse.

A formally trained musician, Cooper’s music industry career was forged in music publishing, representing the catalogues and talents of Bernie Taupin, John Lennon, Eddie Rabbitt, Jim Croce, George Michael, Rick Wakeman, and Smokey Robinson. His songwriting and production experience includes creating theme music and songs for major films and network television shows, as well as musically collaborating with Dennis Quaid, Jason Alexander, Katie Holmes, Cheyenne Jackson, Bret Michaels, Weezer’s Brian Bell, and many others.

From his past positions as an ASCAP Advisory Board Member to his current activities as a highlight speaker and panelist at many Film & Music Festivals worldwide, as well as his ongoing work as a mentor to young professionals and students at colleges and programs around the USA, Cooper continues to bring a passion and sense of gratitude to his work in bridging Film/TV and Music.
