Kevin Weatherly is Sr. Vice President of Programming for Alternative at Audacy and Program Director of KROQ-FM and KCBS-FM (JACK-FM) in Los Angeles. Widely regarded as one of the most influential programmers in modern radio, Weatherly has spent more than three decades shaping the sound and culture of alternative music while helping launch the careers of many of the genre’s most iconic artists.
Weatherly joined Audacy in June 2022, where he oversees the company’s Alternative programming strategy nationwide while also leading two of Southern California’s most prominent stations. In this role, he continues to guide the evolution of alternative radio across broadcast and digital platforms, mentoring programmers and helping connect audiences with emerging artists and cultural trends.
Prior to returning to Audacy, Weatherly served as Head of North American Editorial Programming at Spotify from March 2020 through May 2022. There, he led editorial strategy across major playlists and programming initiatives, bringing decades of radio expertise to one of the world’s leading digital streaming platforms and helping shape how millions of listeners discover music in the streaming era.
Weatherly is best known for his historic 28-year run at KROQ (1992–2020), where he served as Program Director and Vice President of Programming. Under his leadership, KROQ became one of the most influential rock and alternative stations in the world, setting the standard for the format and serving as a launchpad for countless artists.
