Daniel Glass is the Founder & President of Glassnote Music, a full-service independent music company which launched in 2007 and includes both Glassnote Records and Connection Music Publishing. The New York-based independent label, Glassnote Records, currently represents Grammy Award-winning acts Mumford & Sons and Phoenix, as well as Grammy Award-winning and Latin Grammy Award-winning artist Silvana Estrada, alongside standouts Jade Bird, Two Door Cinema Club, Tors, bby, Talia Rae, The Teskey Brothers, and Patrick Martin. It has also been home to The Temper Trap, AURORA, CHVRCHES, and Childish Gambino.
Daniel’s music career began as a disc jockey at the famed Regine’s discotheque in New York City. He went on to SAM Records, then Chrysalis, and continued at SBK Records. That path eventually led him to EMI Records Group North America, where he was named President & CEO. His career continued as founding President of Universal Records before launching Glassnote Music. Throughout his career in the music industry, Daniel has been marked by the success stories of artists such as Billy Idol, Wilson Phillips, Sinéad O’Connor, Blur, Jesus Jones, Erykah Badu, The Pretenders, Huey Lewis & the News, and Pat Benatar.
In addition to leading the Glassnote team, which spans across New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and London, Daniel remains an active participant and philanthropist in his community, both locally and overseas. He is a co-founder and board member of Lifebeat (the music industry’s organization fighting HIV/AIDS), the Vice President of the New York Music for Youth Foundation, Vice Chair of the UJA Entertainment Division, as well as a UJA board member, a former trustee of The Dalton School and ten-year development chair, a board member of the Brooklyn College Foundation, and a board member of the T.J. Martell Foundation. In his free time, Daniel is an avid runner and has participated in over 33 marathons, including 28 NYC marathons and a trip to the Boston Marathon.
