Biography

Amy Dunning serves as VP, Music at Netflix. She joined the company in 2018 and built the Music Creative & Production team across global regions for Original Films, Series, and Animation. She currently leads a team that oversees the production of all music and soundtracks for Netflix’s original films. Her team’s work includes music from many of Netflix’s most-watched titles, such as Bird Box, Leave the World Behind, Don’t Look Up, and Carry On, as well as the Grammy-winning Maestro, the Oscar-winning Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite.

Prior to joining Netflix, Dunning held leadership roles at several respected companies, including 20th Century Fox, Downtown Music Publishing, and Lionsgate Entertainment, where she spearheaded numerous high-profile projects, signings, and collaborations with top artists and composers. She oversaw music for a notable slate of films ranging from (500) Days of Summer and Juno to the Oscar-winning Life of Pi and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. She also played a pivotal role in championing the songwriters behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land, helping to launch two of the most celebrated and commercially successful soundtracks of the past decade.

Beyond her executive role, Dunning is a committed mentor and advocate for the next generation of music leaders. She partners with Berklee College of Music, serves on the Advisory Board of the Alliance for Women Film Composers, and is proud to have hired female leaders across Netflix Music. She is also a member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Recording Academy.
