Biography

Adam Weitz is Vice President of Film & TV at APM Music, a joint venture between Universal Music Publishing Group and Sony Music Publishing. He leads the team overseeing creative sync licensing and bespoke music production for film, television, and entertainment marketing, drawing from APM’s catalog of 1.4M+ one-stop tracks, 250K+ cover recordings, and an average of 220 new albums released each month. His group structures large-scale studio and network partnerships while licensing thousands of individual cues across films, series, and campaigns. Fifteen of the last 20 Best Picture Oscar winners have featured APM music. Recent credits include Anora, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Jurassic World: Rebirth, Love Island, Marty Supreme, Oppenheimer, Severance, Sinners, Stranger Things, The Bear, The White Lotus, Wicked: For Good, and Zootopia 2.

A lifelong crate-digger, Adam also spearheads APM’s sampling business, partnering closely with producers and artists to transform vintage library works into contemporary hits. His work has led to collaborations and co-publishing deals with Kendrick Lamar on “Peekaboo,” Drake “First Person Shooter” feat. J Cole, SZA “No More Hiding” and “Get Behind Me,” Future “SKI,” The Black Keys “Beautiful People (Stay High)” and “Don’t Let Me Go,” Chance the Rapper “All Night,” Jay-Z “DOA,” Eminem “Murdergram Deux” feat. LL Cool J, Kaytranada “Feel A Way” feat. Don Toliver, Denzel Curry “Walkin,” Dr. Dre “Diamond Mind” feat. Nipsey Hussle and The Alchemist, 21 Savage “Savage Mode Intro” feat. Adam holds a BA in Film from Fordham University and a JD from Syracuse University College of Law, where he specialized in intellectual property and civil rights. After law school, he divided his time between litigation and music production, collaborating on projects with MF DOOM and Prince Paul. He later transitioned into composing for Saturday morning cartoons including Care Bears, Sushi Pack, and Disney’s Club Penguin, which led to scoring commercials and ultimately to a career in sync. He has been with APM for 13 years.
