Biography

In September 2012, Mio Vukovic was appointed Sr. VP A&R/Head of Creative for the Disney Music Group. Mio is responsible for all aspects of artist and songwriter signings, as well as creative direction of the recorded music and publishing operations which include Hollywood Records, Walt Disney Records and Disney Music Publishing.

He has been an A&R consultant for Hollywood Records since 2007, instrumental in bringing in key hit songs for Selena Gomez (“Who Says”) and Miley Cyrus (“Party In The U.S.A”)

Since Mio joined DMG, he has been an essential part of the company’s chart-topping success, including Selena Gomez’s No.1 album Stars Dance, Selena’s first No.1 single “Come and Get It,” Demi Lovato’s album Demi (No.1 in over 50 countries), Demi’s No.1 single “Heart Attack,” three other Top 5 Demi singles and a second Demi Lovato album, Confident, with No.1 single “Cool for the Summer.” Mio was instrumental in Sabarina Carpenter’s development with hit singles “Thumbs”, “Sue Me” and Alan Walker, Farruko collaboration “On My Way”. He has also signed an impressive roster of songwriters to DMG Publishing including Dewain Whitmore (Chris Brown, Martin Garrix, Kacy Musgraves), Steph Jones (Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Kelsea Ballerini), Tony Ferrari (Lee Brice, ENHYPEN, Ty Dolla $ign), Paris Carney (Nick Jonas, Maggie Linderman, Sofia Carson), Lenii (Kenzie, David Guetta) and others.

Currently, Mio has been developing chart topping Latin Artist Tini from Argentina. She is one of the biggest and most influential global stars in the music scene. Tini has collaborated with Anitta, Becky G, Sebastian Yatra, Karol G, Maria Bacerra and Steve Aoki to name a few. She has a social following of more than 35 million and more than 13 billion combined audio and video streams. In 2022 Tini performed for more than 850,000 spectators worldwide.

Mio has just launched a new Black Music Label called VANTA with Grammy/Oscar winning producer D’Mile and his team with new signings Samara Cyn and India Shawn. Mio is also focusing on new breakthrough artist Freya Skye who is top 20 at top 40 radio at the moment.

A Los Angeles native, Mio had previously been consulting DMG on behalf of writer and producer management firm AAM, where he signed many of the most successful writers, producers and mixers of today working closely with Dr. Luke, Kevin Rudolf, J Kash, Jean Baptiste and mixers Serban Ghenea and Neal Pogue, among others.

Prior to management and independent consultancy, Vukovic served in executive A&R roles at Warner/Reprise, Epic/550 and Geffen Records, working with such artists as Filter, New Order, Depeche Mode, Aerosmith and U.R.G.E Overkill.
