KORDA MARSHALL

KORDA MARSHALL

Sr. VP, BMG & Founder, Infectious Records

Korda Marshall joined RCA Records as a coffee maker, tape copier and talent scout in 1983, becoming A&R Director of the label in 1988. Departing RCA in 1993 he launched Infectious Records, which eventually merged with Michael Gudinski's Australian music company Mushroom Records. Mushroom was then acquired by the Warner Music Group in 2003. As part of this acquisition, Korda became Managing Director of Atlantic Records, where he signed The Darkness and James Blunt among others, before taking over as MD at Warner Music in 2004, signing artists including Gnarls Barkley, Foals, The Enemy, Pendulum and Seasick Steve.

Korda re-launched Infectious Music as a privately owned, cutting-edge, independent music company in February 2009 with a strong focus on new contemporary artists embracing the new digital environment. The label has a roster of ten artists: The Temper Trap, alt-J, Local Natives, These New Puritans, Drenge, Superfood, DZ Deathrays, Ry X and The Acid. In September 2014 Korda sold Infectious to BMG and now runs their front line record company in London.
